katha reading campaign
Katha wants to extend its network across India, extending the creative
web bridge of knowledge and education to as many children as
possible! The Indian Reading League is Katha’s effort to bring innumerable
number of children into our league. The IRL covers 4 zones
of Delhi, with 13 franchisees and 13 leagues in each zone.
The ambitious project is bound to share the joy of reading with as many
children as possible.
Katha’s
belief in innovativeness, not one time innovation, has led
to an invitation from the Government of Delhi to work with 2.4 million
children, 60,000 teachers and 3,000 librarians to enhance the reading skills
of their children and teachers. Through this campaign, Katha will
join hands as the sole implementing partner with the Government of Delhi
to bring the joy of reading to children in the age group of 5-17. Several
MCD and Government schools across Delhi have been brought under its ambit.
Katha
was started in 1988 with a children’s magazine and was fully registered
as a nonprofit organization in 1989, serendipitously on World Literacy Day, September
8. Over two decades, Katha has brought the joy of reading to 100,00,000 children.
Since 1988, our books and children’s magazine, Tamasha! have
reached out to 30,000 schools.
We are relaunching your Tamasha! as an
e-magazine. Subscribe NOW to rediscover the world of Tamasha!
