Grassroots work with diverse communities. Our friends of Katha, the urban unserved, our children, our illustrators. Katha is probably the only organization that works at the literacy as well as the literary grassroots.
We help young people plan, strategize, fight for and get their basic rights, responsibly. We also give them great creative books to read. And easy readers to hone their reading skills. We believe reading gives power of a sustaining kind. And our books -- fun and without moralizing bytes -- make our students strong to back up our strategy statement: Transforming children into community leaders through education.
Katha has driven its community participation and activism on a single powerful idea: Children can help their communities get out of poverty.
