The Katha Creativity Centre
or Tejas believes in interacting and reciprocating.
It is our continuous endeavour to appreciate
almost any human effort to excel. In our own
little way, we honour individuals, encourage
institutions, organize seminars and workshops,
nurture the cause of education for whom studying
is but a distant dream, strive to bring to
you the best in the world of publishing and
above all, invite you to join us.
The initiative includes:
The Katha Awards (established
in 1990) — The Katha Chudamani award is
presented for a lifetime literary achievement.
The Katha Awards for Creative Writing, Translation
and Editing were instituted in 1991. The ChitraKala
Award recognises the best illustrator for
children’s books/magazines. Literature and
books are a serious and very important affair
at Katha.
The Kalyani Awards (established
in 1993) — These awards recognise the
best practices in non-formal education and
come under the Katha School of Entrepreneurship.
Learning ought to be fun and we support the
cause earnestly.
PACT — Principals’
Alliance for Creative Teaching strives to
enhance creativity and quality in higher education.
Heads of institutions review methods to make
teaching an innovative vocation.
A Question of Choice
— Seminars for teachers where various aspects
of education are discussed are organised occasionally
by Katha. Individual efforts to enhance the
quality of education are stressed upon.
The Katha Excellence
Circle — A monthly meeting of Katha staff
members is held wherein everyone shares their
ideas to achieve the vision and missions of
Katha; an official episode of fun and work.
TAQEED — Teachers’
Alliance for Quality eEducation is all about
creating an Internet community of teachers
who share ideas, expertise and pedagogy; a
little reminder that we are at par with the
world.
Friends of Katha
— Katha cordially invites you to be a member
of the Katha network. Join us as a writer,
teacher, translator, reader, media person
or a student. We have a one-to-one relation
with all our friends and value their suggestions
and contributions.
